BrightBird exists because most managers find managing people the hardest part of the job — and very few have been properly trained to do it.

Karen built BrightBird around a simple idea: that leaders in education, business, charities and social enterprises deserve practical support, not management theory. She is particularly known for helping managers approach difficult conversations with confidence — the kind of conversations most people defer until the situation gets worse.

RYCM shaped the brand identity, site structure and copy to match the audience BrightBird actually serves: busy managers who know they need help, can identify the problem and want a straightforward route to a solution.

The website was designed to work across every sector BrightBird operates in, without feeling generic. Each audience — schools, businesses, charities — has its own entry point and its own language. The brand identity keeps everything coherent: approachable but professional, warm but direct.

The result is a site that reflects what Karen does in practice. It moves people from recognition to action, and makes it easy to take the first step.

Project detail 01

The homepage was structured to move people quickly from recognition to action. The headline — Practical help for managing people — says exactly what BrightBird does without softening it into meaninglessness. The design is clean and confident, with a strong call to action that gets visitors into a 15-minute conversation rather than leaving them browsing indefinitely.

Project detail 02

Karen at BrightBird has built a genuine reputation for helping managers tackle the things most people avoid — difficult conversations, underperformance, team conflict. The brief was to create a web presence that reflected that specialism clearly: not a generic coaching site, but something that speaks directly to the leaders and managers who need practical help, fast.

Project detail 03

BrightBird serves distinct audiences — education teams, businesses, charities and social enterprises — each with their own entry points and specific concerns. The site structure was built around those routes, so a headteacher looking for in-house training and a charity manager dealing with a difficult team member both land somewhere that feels relevant to them. The brand identity runs consistently across every device and page.
